2nd Shift, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Monday through Friday

The Assistant Director of Operations leads the second shift in our dough manufacturing facility and works directly under the Director of Operations and General Manager and cooperatively with all Supervisors. The Assistant Director of Operations serves the integral role of working on the production floor with the staff throughout the duration of his/her shift.
  • Work 40-42 hours per week on average, though extenuating circumstances may require extended time commitments.
  • Adherence to and Enforcement of all company policy.
  • Effectively manage staff.
  • Enforce all policies/practices/procedures among staff.
  • Treat employees equally.
  • Interact professionally with employees.
  • Awareness of employees’ needs.
  • Contribute to training efforts of staff members.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information pertaining to staff, management concerns, and the company at large.
  • Contribute meaningful content to employee performance evaluations.
  • Promotion of Safety in the workplace.
  • Educating employees on potential safety hazards.
  • Constant monitoring of the entire work environment.
  • Working knowledge and daily execution of food safety considerations and practices.
  • Maintaining clean workspace area at all times.
  • Maintaining sanitation practices throughout shift.
  • Management of all food safety documentation.
  • Utilization of Shift Itineraries in order to effectively and efficiently run each shift, controlling labor costs and ensuring accuracy of product.
  • Monitor all supervisors are in control of product costs by quality and portion control, prevention of mistakes and oversights and implementation and cataloguing of product waste.
  • Monitor that all food safety and quality control checkpoints are being documented.
  • Effectively communicate with Director of Ops/General Manager any concerns, staffing, mechanical or product aberrations, ideas for improvement, and equipment needs.
  • Write and send a daily recap of the day's proceedings.

Education / Experience:
  • Minimum High School Diploma.
  • Preferred Associate's (2 year) or Bachelor's (4 year) degree.
  • Preferred 5+ years experience as a manager in the food manufacturing industry, or 10+ years general food manufacturing experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and commercial bakery experience a plus.
